JOJOBA OIL
Jojoba oil is made from the nut of the jojoba plant which is a shrub that grows in North America. Jojoba is a humectant, meaning it’s moisturizing and helps seal your skin and keep it from losing hydration. It is also antibacterial, antifungal, and antimicrobial - which is very beneficial for preventing and healing acne. Jojoba oil is also an antioxidant, helping fight free radicals and keep skin fresh. Jojoba oil isn’t a greasy oil. It’s actually a noncomedogenic oil and similar enough to your sebum (the oil of your skin) that your skin won’t recognize the difference. That means that your skin will sense that extra oil on your face and adjust oil production to keep things balanced - which is great news especially if you have oily skin. This also helps pores from getting clogged and the acne that results from clogged pores. According to some preliminary research, jojoba oil may also be able to help with acne scarring.
